Project Overview:

I was inspired by growing up playing card games with my family to create a custom illustrated deck that felt both personal and meaningful. This project gave me the chance to expand my illustration skills by exploring a variety of characters, expressions, and figure types, including more imaginative and mythical elements. A recurring theme of angels and devils ties the deck together, adding a playful sense of contrast and personality. I also used color choices inspired by childhood nostalgia to give the project a more sentimental feel.

Approach & Outcome:

I approached the project with the intention of making the illustrations the focal point, keeping the color palette simple so the artwork could stand out. I aimed for a style that feels whimsical and slightly playful, while still giving the face cards a more stylized and subtly edgy look. Designing each card was a really engaging process, especially figuring out how to adapt my illustrations within the constraints of a traditional deck format. Overall, the project combines my personal illustration style with my understanding of design and composition, both in the cards themselves and in the packaging.
