DESIGN
EXPERIENCE
LAGOON ART DEPARTMENT
Worked in the Sign Shop at Lagoon Amusement Park (2016-2019), contributing to the creation and maintenance of visual design elements throughout the park. Responsibilities included screen printing signs, hand-painting displays and props, and assisting with overall studio organization to ensure a productive workflow.
Collaborated on a wide variety of projects, from routine studio upkeep and material preparation to large-scale seasonal installations. This included carving hundreds of pumpkins, designing and decorating haunted attractions, and producing custom signage and decorative elements for events and park attractions.
INTERNSHIPS
Hetch Hetchy Project 2023
Selected for a competitive field-based project in California’s Hetch Hetchy Valley, where I rephotographed the dam to document and compare its present condition with historical construction imagery. Upon returning, I edited, printed, and mounted the photographs, presenting them alongside archival images at a conference session focused on the valley’s restoration and its broader implications. This experience strengthened my skills in visual documentation, presentation, and critical analysis.
BioArt Project 2024
Collaborated with the biology department on an early-stage interdisciplinary project focused on documenting bacterial and microbial growth over time. Captured and analyzed visual changes through photography, exploring how artistic and design approaches could enhance scientific observation and communication. Worked closely with faculty to design and assemble custom camera rigs, conduct time-lapse testing, and refine imaging techniques. Contributed to developing a visual and technical framework that supports the project’s continuation in future semesters.
FREELANCE / ILLUSTRATOR
Provided custom design and illustration services to a diverse client base through social media platforms, including Instagram, catering to personal, professional, and creative projects. Collaborated directly with clients to understand their vision, translating ideas and concepts into clean, visually compelling designs crafted to their needs.
This experience strengthened my ability to navigate creative challenges, adapt to varied design styles, and work independently from concept through final delivery. It also enhanced my project management, communication, and problem-solving skills, while deepening my understanding of visual storytelling and audience engagement. Collaborating with clients on personalized work provided valuable insight into interpreting others’ ideas and transforming them into cohesive, professional designs.
